Steamed pork buns or Baozi 包子

My family is from Northern China where wheat is the staple crop. I grew up with my maternal grandparents making all sorts of flour-based foods like dumplings, noodles, steamed buns, and pancakes from scratch. I’ve slowly been learning from my mom over the past few years but still need a lot of practice. My mom doesn’t use any written recipes, so learning is all about observation and feel. In that sense, an image-only recipe submission is an accurate representation of that process!
