How to

Combine salt and sugar in bowl
Rinse salmon and pat dry
Cover both sides of salmon with salt and sugar mixture (use ⅔ of it) and wrap the piece of fish in plastic wrap
Place fish in container like a pyrex baking dish and then place a pan or plate on top of the wrapped fish and place cans and other heavy objects around your house on top to press the fish down
Place in fridge for 24 hours
After 24 hours, remove and wash out liquid in the dish
Cover the fish with remaining salt and sugar and wrap in new plastic wrap and press again in fridge
Let cure 24 more hours and you are done!
Slice thinly and store in fridge.
